Currently reading Penguins Stopped Play by Harry Thompson. It's a lovely book, and perfectly captures quaint English eccentricity combined with sharp humour.

Yeah Penguins Stopped Play was recommended in Shortlist this week and sounds good, I might have to give it a go seeing as I am broading my reading tastes.
I finished Blast from the Past last night, I was only half way through and then it suddenly all started happening and I couldn't go to bed till I'd finished it and it was well worth staying up for. I love Ben Eltons books because you can never guess the ending, even if you came up with 5 ways you think the book will end, it will end a totally different way that you would never have thought of.
I was actually sitting in a state of shock when I finished this last night as the last 5 chapters had so many twists and turns and I got so involved in it it actually made my heart race, made me mushy, made me laugh, made me cry and made my jaw hit the floor all in the last 30 pages (as well as the rest of the book, I was just shocked at the rollercoaster of emotions that is packed into the last bit) Absolutely 10/10, loved it!
