The noose tightens on Trump's election campaign and links to Russia...

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-41804740

Quote:
The former manager of Donald Trump's presidential campaign, Paul Manafort, is to face charges related to an inquiry into alleged Russian meddling, US media report.

He was seen arriving at an FBI office in Washington with his lawyer early on Monday.

An investigation headed by special counsel Robert Mueller is looking into any links between Russia and the Trump campaign.

Both sides deny any collusion.

Did he or didn't he?

Damn!

Quote:
Donald Trump's former presidential campaign manager, Paul Manafort, has been charged with conspiring to defraud the US in his dealings with Ukraine.

The 12 charges brought against Mr Manafort and one of his business associates, Rick Gates, include conspiracy to launder money.

However, they do not relate to Mr Trump's campaign but to the two men's Ukrainian business dealings up to 2015.

He's pleaded guilty and they are treating this as a RICO case so very much watch this space atm.

Charges and potential sentences:

COUNT ONE: Conspiracy Against the United States
Both men are charged with conspiring together and with others to knowingly and intentionally defraud and commit crimes against the United States between 2006 and 2017. If found guilty, each potentially faces up to five years in prison and up to $10,000 (£7,500) in fines.

COUNT TWO: Conspiracy to Launder Money
Both men are charged with conspiring together and with others to transfer funds from outside the United States to and through places inside the country without properly disclosing the transactions or paying required federal taxes. Penalties for this count include up to 20 years in federal prison and a fine of either $500,000 (£375,000) or twice the monetary value of the property involved in the transaction, whichever is greater.

COUNTS THREE, FOUR, FIVE AND SIX: Failure to File Reports of Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts
The indictment alleges that for each calendar year between 2012 and 2015, Manafort failed to disclose to the US Treasury Department that he had a financial interest in and authority over bank accounts in a foreign country involving more than $10,000 (£7,500). Penalties include up to 10 years in federal prison for each of the four counts and fines of up to $100,000 (£70,500), or up to 50 per cent of the total value for the transactions, for each of the four years in the counts.

COUNTS SEVEN, EIGHT AND NINE: Failure to File Reports of Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts
The indictment alleges that between 2012 and 2014, Gates failed to disclose to the US Treasury Department that he had a financial interest in and authority over bank accounts in a foreign country involving more than 10,000 dollars (£7,500). Penalties include up to 10 years in federal prison for each of the four counts and fines of up to $100,000 (£70,500), or up to 50% of the total value for the transactions, for each of the four years in the counts.

COUNT 10: Unregistered Agent of a Foreign Principal
Prosecutors allege that both men failed to register with the US attorney general as foreign agents of the government of Ukraine, the Part of Regents and Ukrainian president Viktor Yanukovych between 2008 and 2014. Penalties include up to five years in federal prison and up to $10,000 (£7,500) in fines.

COUNT 11: False and misleading statements under the Foreign Agents Registration Act
The indictment alleges that both men made multiple false statements to federal officials in relation to their failure to register as foreign agents of the Ukrainian government. Penalties include up to five years in federal prison and up to $10,000 (£7,500) in fines.

COUNT 12: False Statements
Prosecutors allege that between November 2016 and February 2017, Mr Manafort and Mr Gates conspired together and caused others to make false statements and conceal crimes against the United States. The penalty is up to five years in prison.

And the third dude named:

Returning to the unsealed documents about Mr Papadopoulos - at the end of March 2016 he attended a meeting of President Trump's national security team.

Mr Papadopoulos “introduced himself to the group” and stated “in sum and substance, that he had connections that could help arrange a meeting between then-candidate Trump and President Putin,” according to the new documents.

In response to 8 people killed by a truck in New York, Trump orders the Department of Homeland Security to step up its “extreme vetting program”:

‘We must not allow Isis to return or enter our country. Enough!’

In response to 600+ people being shot in Las Vagas, Trump says it's a miracle.

“Look, we have a tragedy. What happened is, in many ways, a miracle,” Trump said as he departed the White House for a trip to Puerto Rico on Tuesday morning. “The police department, they’ve done such an incredible job. And we’ll be talking about gun laws as time goes on. But I do have to say, how quickly the police department was able to get in was really very much of a miracle. They’ve done an amazing job.”

According to physics, nothing ever quite touches. When you lay your hand on something, there is a microscopic amount of space between the atoms of your hand and whatever you're touching... so no, officer, technically I'm not jacking off right now
