Being accepted to start university in August to start my medical training. After years of being a teacher, I give up, I'm going to be a nurse.

There aren't many jobs I can think of more thankless than being a teacher but a nurse is probably on the list, talk about not making it easy for yourself!

I wanted to be a nurse when I was a kid but I ended up training to be a teacher thinking it would be more rewarding. How wrong was I? Its brutal and I'm so done.

My mother left teaching 25+ years ago as she couldn't see a future where she'd be able to make a difference with the kids. They were impossible to control which made it impossible to teach.
I suspect nursing will see a resurgence as pay and conditions are improved to encourage people into the profession and make up for the EU nurses who are leaving.
