Has 2016 been a weird year for everyone? Certainly seems that there have been extremes in both good and bad for many people. For the show however it’s only been good, we’ve been showcasing some of the brightest talents within the underground scene and we plan on continuing that throughout the year.

Bjorn Akesson is a name that has solidly been around for a while but has had gained even more popularity over the past couple of years again with his associations with Future Sound of Egypt. His early entry to the scene with the massive 'Perfect Blue' gained him a huge amount of fans but then it was his release of 'Painting Pyramids’ which really touched the souls of his newly acquired fans and pushed him into the favoured realms of the FSOE massive. Bjorn has further had music released on Armada and Pure Trance but its FSOE which he calls his home and suits his brand of uplifting driving trance. Remaining true to his signature, he is one to pioneer across the energy of trance, making him a deserving candidate when Billboard were making a list of the future artists of the scene. With a production pedigree most would wish for plus his DJing where he covered the festival circuit at Global Gathering, VH1 Supersonic and Buenos Aires Trance alongside fellow pioneers from Ferry Corsten to Dash Berlin. Across the clubs, Bjorn has lit up Ministry of Sound London, Ibiza’s biggest room at Privilege and Space Sharm. It’s great to have him on the show, we find out what his top 3 tracks are!

We have a new feature to the show as well. Flashback will take a look back at some classic tracks that aren't from the normal list. Things that rocked the dancefloors but don't always make it onto the thousands of dance classic compilations. get your suggestions now to http://twitter.com/EDMChannel
