Yeah! Hardcore is built on commercial remixes where the song is re-sung. 80s tracks re-sung with different words was part of the boom during the old Happy Hardcore days. It's not that often the original vocal is used though, for financial reasons. There's no money to be made from it!
bollocks.

No. There aren't any legal complications if you give the record away for free. It's just classed as a bootleg then.
Dude - she's really fucking strict about her music...

If it's different words, it's not the same song.

Not strictly true, from a legal standpoint. In order for a charge of plagiarism to stand up, the lyrics can be completely different.

What's bollocks? The fact that Happy Hardcore was built on 80s vocal remixes? There were tons of them. I think Hardcore remixed every 80s power vocal ballad possible.

Also. I remember having a Drum & Bass remix of 'Ready Or Not' by the Fugees. I bought it, even though it was an illegal bootleg. That was back in the day when vinyl was booming though. The label on the record gave you no way of knowing who made the record. So the money was going to hidden pockets. I think DJ Hype did the remix though.

It wasn't "built" on them, there were some but saying it was built on them is bollocks.
