Mark EG

» Voice To Life

Label: Yin Yang
Format: Digital
Genre: Techno

Mark EG is a hard dance institution. A man who embodies the punk spirit in everything he does; whether it be causing havoc on the decks or scaring us all with his antics. But its in his productions where he really shines though and on Yin Yang, he delivers his next masterpiece in the form of Voice To Life, a track that is pure techno with a bevy of remixes to boot.

To say that Mark EG is a legend is putting it mildly. He’s so much a legend that a 4 year old, living in London, dances to his mixes and productions. Nothing too much in that but the pure reach of this guy is enough to make even four years old dance. And surely, isn’t that why we’re all in this business? To make people dance?

Voice To Life is a solid techno banger with a funky beat and a dark, unsettling, bass-line and a menacing rhythm section. The original mix is great but the remixes take it to another level; my favourite being the Adriana Vega mix which, for all intents and purposes, goes even darker. If that#s even possible. I have this tradition of not giving too much away in terms of remixes and that’s not really gonna change here. Let’s just say that there are four and they’re all pretty top-notch. More like this please!
