Over the past ten years Finger Lickin’ Records have built themselves a reputation as purveyors of the finest breakbeat known to man; introducing us to the likes of the Plump DJs, Soul Of Man, A Skillz and Slyde. Beatz & Bobz meanwhile have been busy organising the UK’s longest running breaks night, with the list of past guests at the Exeter night reading like a who’s who of the scene as well as representing the Breaks scene at Festivals around the world including Glastonbury festival since 2000..
NoSoul Of Man, Rennie Pilgrem, Plump DJs and more. Finger Lickin’s fave funky turntabalist A-Skillzvember 2nd sees the two heavyweights join forces for a party of epic proportions at London’s Heaven. The line-up for the night is stellar, even by their own standards, with FL and BB inviting down the very best artists that have inspired, recorded for, or simply blown them away on the decks. This is arguably the hottest line up EVER!
Festival favourites Dreadzone and new kids on the block Slyde both bring their live elements to the main room, where support on the decks comes from is joined upstairs by label mates the Drumattic Twins and Flow Dynamics all the way from Western Australia, with a rare UK date.
As if that wasn’t enough, Alex Paterson of The Orb fame takes control of the departure lounge, while downstairs the first lady of breaks and legend – Radio 1’s Annie Nightingale – will be hosting a back-to-back session with a selection of the hottest DJs on the night.
“DECADE at Heaven is a major event for us,” explains Finger Lickin’ head-honcho Justin Rushmore. “We’ve had some amazing nights in London, but Heaven was the first nightclub I ever went to, and we can’t wait to bring the party to the loyal, up for it crowd this place attracts.”
“We’ve known Biff and the Beat & Bobz crew since the early days (he actually gave me and Jem our second ever Soul Of Man DJ gig) and he’s been doing this as long as we have, so who better to share the night with?”
