Whilst he likes to keep it a bit friendlier on his Radio One show, here the legend that is Kutski goes full frontal with a Hardstyle tune so brutal you’d have thought it came from Holland. Lots of atmospheric sounds help to build an excellent sound throughout the track, which is nice to see as lots of Hardstyle tunes these days lack attention to detail for me, but not this one. There’s a fairly standard bass kick at the heart of this tune, and the breakdown takes things on a nice turn, as what was a quite dark and hard track then turns into a vocal number with a rendition of Harry Nilsson’s 1967 hit “One”. It’s certainly an odd choice but it works anyhow. The uplifting synths match the vocal well and make for a rather pleasant track that stays far away from the cheddar to make it worth of purchase.
The Endymion remix is a much more upbeat affair, with a higher BPM and more aggressive structure from the outset, although it maintains the depth of sound of the original. This one however goes straight to breakdown from the opening beats and contains a slightly more uplifting breakdown. Don’t let this deceive you though, as when it gets going it’s harder than the original, and unfortunately at 5.20 it’s a bit too short for my liking.
