Label: Doof Doof Traxx
Format: Digital
Genre: European Hard Trance

Doof Doof. One of my favourite labels. Cant beat a bit of Doof after all, not done me any harm. Has it???

Using the same vocal sample as the Vandall track of the same name, the original mix is fairly standard European Hard Trance. Off beat bass combines with lots of acid up until a shirt mini-break, where the vocal goes a bit mental and filters down into a loop. Then things go off. Big time! There are literally buckets of energy here as the break hits perfectly. Then cue the acid again before more of the same for the main break. Or so I thought!
Panned distorted leads enter here and everything goes even more mental. A slight throwback to Euro of a few years back, but who cares when it sounds this good?
It lacks a riff so to speak, but I don’t think it suffers too much given the amount of energy and clever use of sound that it makes much difference.

8/10

Dr. Willis has been ramming out the tuneage rather solidly this year, which is no mean feat as at the beginning of the year I’d never heard of him.
The Australian producers effort is markedly different from the original. For a start the bass is much more distorted, sounds better and takes more of an important part. The percussion use is also really well arranged, as is the vocal. The acid returns in a rawer form, and again, lack of a main riff is the only thing I can point out that is missing.
This is until the main breakdown, where a simple, gated riff takes over. Cue double kicks and an almost Wid and Ben style snare fill drop and this track owns the originals.
A fantastic remix from one of the best up and coming producers out there, keep your eye on this Dr. If he even is a Dr!!!

9/10

This is wicked. I've been hammering the original mix.
