Label: Diverted
Format: CD-R
Genre: Trance

No it isn’t a tune about the electronic beds of the same name (albeit beginning with a C instead of a K). It is instead the new trance tune out on Diverted.

With no less than 6 mixes in this package it’s going to be hard to not find something to suit your tastes. Trance wise, it is pretty comprehensive.

The original mix is a fantastic uplifting number, complete with gorgeously euphoric pads. The 2 note bass stabs away in the background, and when covered with echoing, dreamy synths, takes you on one of those trance journeys of old.
The production values here are clear for all to see, a lot of time was spent on this and it shows. The orchestral breakdown has got to be one of the best I have heard this year. Absolutely mint!

I last reviewed a Stuart Heasty tune a couple of weeks ago (Aventis, on Courture) and absolutely loved it. So when I saw that this came with a remix I nearly wet myself. Needless to say, after the original, I went straight for this. This is much more driving that the original but it loses none of its charm or appeal. The bass in this is great, really tough and driving, with excellent use of atmospherics.
The breakdown also is awesome, although I’m not too sure if the short break beat sequence was needed.
Like I said in my previous review of Aventis, its tunes like this that got me into trance. Slightly preferable to the original although they are both excellent.

The Alex van Gar remix takes seems to have a much lighter feel, the dreamy pads seemingly never ending. It seems to have been completely reworked because I didn’t even think it was the same tune. Regardless, it’s still well made and different enough to the original to warrant a purchase.

The Manuel Le Saux remix is on a much more thumping tip, with smashing kicks providing a solid bass for some Trance madness. Starting very quickly, the bass fades in excellently. The synths are in full flow before you can blink, almost like he wanted to get this tune out as quickly as possible. The break goes straight for the jugular, only introducing lush pads after the main riff already has you in its grasp. When it finally all drops back in, the energy levels are through the roof. The mixes just seem to keep getting better and better!

The Soundborn remix is a slightly techy affair, choosing to tone the riff done at first. Here it gets chopped up to good effect, compromising by adding lots of subtle layers it seems.
It completely changes after the break however, turning into an uplifting electro-tech monster, chopping the riff to buggery, sounding nothing short of amazing.
Unlike every other mix so far and totally original.

Lastly is the Serenade remix. Subtle acid in the background is about the only real difference I can hear compared to the others. The break is very emotional, a true hands in the air type tune, with layers of gorgeous Pads so tasty I could almost touch them. It builds fantastically, the bass returning before the beat creating mountains of energy.

6 great mixes here, needless to say I am very impressed.
