It’s always nice to hear a track from an artist you have never heard of before, especially if that track is a monster because that is pretty much what we have here.
Original mix
The original mix starts with a nice haunting beat less intro, leading to a short break beat sequence. Then the bass filters up and away we go. Very driving and still retaining its haunting sound, Seekers continually adds layers of percussion interspersed by 1 bar break beat sequences, until it hits what fools you into thinking is a break down. Instead it filters down, an eerie vocal sample says “Seekers”, and then it races off again, this time with a manic acid line leading the way through to the proper break down. Distorted acid combines with the downright evil drone from the intro to make a very nasty piece of work. A lone kick leads it back out of the break and off we go again, adding more noises and a proper riff, still eerie but in a really nice driving way.
Lots of depth and well produced. Just don’t ask me what “Seekers” means though!

Maximale Energie mix
If you thought that sounded good, you should hear the Maximale Energie (yes, Energie, not Energy) remix. Starting with a pounding kick drum and minimal percussion (just the way I like it) it builds with some nice snare fills, the vocal and then some nice German bass! It wastes no time building up energy again, with some very eerie pads in the background adding to the atmosphere. Maybe there are a few too many short snare rolls through this tune, but I can forgive that. At least they are never overdone.
I like the way the reverse cymbals bring in the breakdown, before a stabbing main riff cranks the evil factor up to maximum. If you like your tuneage nice of fluffy, I would advise you to stay away, because this one bites!
It sounds like the kind of tune you would expect to hear on a label like Damage maybe, because from what I have heard, Liquid Pulse had a much more uplifting sound to its releases. But a good tune is a good tune, regardless of which label it is released on.
9/10
