Label: Tidy Two Format: 12" Vinyl Genre: Hard Trance
The SHOKK mix on this release sees the label continue to forge ahead with the dutch/german hard trance sound. This one however has a bit more arrangement and logic to it than most that come from those shores. Its everything you've come to expect from TidyTwo, a full on stomp with a killer melodic trance breakdown that's great for peak time frenzy.
On the flip is the mix that has really caught my attention. Nick Sentience yet again proves he is the leader in new production ideas. The mix is minimal compared to the original and a lot slower too. Think progressive trance with a hard trance feel and you're there. This is very clever stuff. Full of excellent effects, logical thinking, key changing bass lines, two very clever breakdowns and pure unadulterated snippets of sound here and there. Sentience's mix isn't a peak time crowd pleaser but it could be the sign of things to come as he once more brings a new element to the hard fold and possibly awakens the rest of the music industry into listening to our scene. Put simply it's sublime music.
