This is one of the most exciting tracks I've heard in a while that has got even me jumping up and down ! Jay Pidgeons first ever outing and Raff enhancing his up and coming reputation and what a standard to set themsleves. Heavily influenced by German and Dutch sounds and laden with quirky stabs, there's even a bass line on the first mix that is almost a garage bass line. The track kicks in and instantly grabs your attention because its so fresh and different from absolutely everything else that's been around for ages. The female vocal comes in and leaves you thinking where did they get that from and why didn't I think of that ? It just smacks you in the face and when the break comes you wonder what will happen. Well, it simply comes in with a corker of a stab and carves out a pattern and you realise the foreign influence before it takes off and rolls along into the distance. I've never listened to a tune so often in one day that has landed on my desk as this before. Its uplifting, its hard, its got energy and most importantly its got passion.
On the B side there is a tougher mix that compliments the original so well. Its a darker, tougher affair with a more driving throbbing bass line and the riff is in the same ilk. The only fault I found on the B side is that I wish it also had the vocal on it and I'd play both sides in the same set without thinking twice! This record is everything that has been lacking in the scene for a long time and has actually given me inspiration that had recently gone missing. How refreshing.
