The incredible talent that is Cosmic Flow releases his second album titled ‘Infinity’ on May 23rd 2025 on the iconic Psy-Trance label Iono-Music. Before its release, we decided to grab Gil (Cosmic Flow) and get a little insight into his world and the eagerly anticipated upcoming album release!

What’s your earliest memory of music?

My earliest memory of music takes me right back to childhood: sitting in the backseat of my parents’ car, staring out the window while the radio played. I didn’t know who the artists were or what genres they belonged to, but even then, I was drawn to sounds that told stories, sounds that transported me somewhere else.

Even as a little kid, I wasn’t satisfied with music just as background. I craved something that would move me emotionally, that would stir something deep inside. Looking back, I realize those small moments planted the seeds for the path I walk today as an artist.

How do you feel your childhood shaped the person you are today?

My childhood shaped me in a unique way. From a young age, I was immersed in martial arts — a combination of judo, karate, and jiu-jitsu — and I reached the highest possible achievements: a black belt and Israeli national champion. For me, martial arts weren’t just a sport; they taught me discipline, focus, resilience, and, most importantly, how to fall and rise again.

Later, I moved into the world of competitive windsurfing, where I learned completely different lessons: how to be one with the wind and water, how to live fully in the moment, how to surrender and trust. And at the same time, trance music came into my life — first as sounds that accompanied me, and later as the centre of my world.

All of these parts — the training, the sports, nature, and the music — shaped who I am both as a person and as an artist: someone constantly seeking balance, depth, new boundaries, and, above all, connection — both inward and outward.

What’s the first music you remember buying?

The first CD I ever bought was The Fat of the Land by The Prodigy. That album blew my mind. The energy, the chaos, the boldness — it was the first time I realised what electronic music could do to the soul and body.

When did you decide you wanted to make music yourself?

After a period of DJing, playing other people’s music, I started to feel something was missing — I wasn’t finding enough tracks that really spoke to me. That’s when my first project, Nitro, was born, and in 2008 I released my first album.

From there, things evolved into a very successful collaboration with Dima Gefner, and together we founded NitroDrop. We toured all over the world, released successful tracks, and enjoyed international success. But at a certain point, as happens sometimes, our paths split.

Out of that moment, from the desire to find my own personal voice and create something that was 100% me, Cosmic Flow was born — the project where I found my true artistic identity, the one that guides me to this day.

What’s your process when making a track?

For me, it always starts with a feeling, an idea, or an image in my head. Sometimes it’s a melody, sometimes a groove, and sometimes just a particular atmosphere I want to capture. I never work with a rigid plan; I let the track unfold, building the skeleton first — kick, bass, groove — and then adding layers, textures, and transitions.

I love blending analog and digital elements because that’s where the depth and soul of the sound are created. I want my tracks to feel alive and real, not sterile or mechanical, with every sound serving the larger emotional picture.

What’s your studio setup?

My studio is a hybrid of digital and analog worlds. I mainly work in Cubase, but I also incorporate the TB-303, a Roland drum machine, the Nord Lead synth, and various analog effects.

I love when my music feels like it’s breathing — warm, alive, full of subtle imperfections that give it human character.

What was the last music you listened to that wasn’t psytrance?

Recently, I’ve been listening to Augustus Pablo a lot. His reggae and dub, especially with the melodica, have this timeless, meditative quality. It’s a completely different world from psytrance, but the principle is the same: it’s all about vibe, feeling, and space.

What is your biggest achievement in life?

Beyond my music career, which is truly the heart of my life, one of my greatest and most meaningful achievements is the event production project I’ve led for the past ten years: Traktor BaTeva.

This is a unique Israeli production that brings together families, artists, and communities from across the country, creating magical, nature-based events. Over the years, we’ve hosted events in forests, on beaches, on mountaintops, and by the Sea of Galilee, bringing artists from around the world to perform here.

For me, Traktor BaTeva isn’t just a project — it’s a home, a community, a way of life. It lets me combine my two biggest passions: music and bringing people together.

What has been a big disappointment in your life?

I’ve had many moments of self-doubt, projects that didn’t succeed or dreams that were delayed. Whether in sports, music, or event production, there have been times when everything seemed to fall apart.

But I’ve learned that every disappointment is a lesson. Every fall is part of the journey. You can’t truly move forward without stumbling sometimes — that’s where the real growth happens.

What are your biggest inspirations in life?

Nature is a constant source of inspiration — the sea, the mountains, the wind, the cosmos itself. But beyond nature, I’m deeply inspired by people — by the ways we touch each other, heal each other, and transform through shared experience.

For me, music is never just sound — it’s a tool for connection and healing. That’s what I’m always searching for.

What’s the most unforgettable moment in your life so far?

Without a doubt, the most unforgettable moments of my life were watching my wife give birth to our three children. She is a true hero, and I admire her more than anyone in the world.

Of course, playing a sunrise set in front of thousands of people, seeing the dancefloor move as one, is an intense and powerful experience — but my children, they are the biggest and most meaningful thing in my life.

Standing on a stage and living those magical moments is incredible, but when I look at my family, I feel a depth of love, awe, and gratitude that nothing else can match.

How did you get signed to Iono Music?

I had previously released a track with Iono Music as part of the NitroDrop project, but the direct personal connection came through my dear friend Nissan, known as Cosmic Tone. Nissan believed in me and opened the door for me at Iono, and for that, I’m incredibly grateful. For years, I had admired the label — their quality, their vision — and when the opportunity came to join, it felt like the most natural and meaningful next step.

It was a deep moment of validation, not just professionally but personally. It was the feeling that all those years of searching, investing, and working had led me to a place where I was surrounded by people who understood and supported my vision.

It wasn’t just signing a contract — it was joining a family.

What’s it like working with Iono?

It’s a huge pleasure. They’re not just highly professional; they’re a real community, a family, a team with vision and genuine passion. They give you creative freedom, they support you, and at the same time they maintain an incredibly high standard.

Working with them allows me to push my music further, knowing I have real backing behind me.

Tell us about your upcoming album on Iono…

The album Infinity was born during a time of upheaval — from the chaos of COVID to the eruption of war in Israel.

This is by far my most personal album. It holds layers of pain, searching, hope, resilience, and ultimately, release. Every track is a chapter in that journey, with the central belief that within us, as human beings, there is something infinite — something that keeps creating, feeling, and connecting even when the world around us seems to fall apart.

For me, Infinity isn’t just a collection of dance tracks — it’s an emotional and spiritual journey, a soundscape of survival and transformation.

What’s on the horizon for Cosmic Flow?

So much! More shows, more festivals, exciting new collaborations, and of course, new music.

I feel that especially now, after everything we’ve gone through as a community and as a world, my role as an artist and producer is to help people remember why we’re here: to connect, to celebrate, to truly live.

Cosmic Flow isn’t just a name — it’s a mission: to help people feel, heal, and move together through sound.

If someone were to write a book about your journey so far, what would it be called?

Chasing Infinity: The Journey of Cosmic Flow.
Because that’s how I see my life — an infinite journey into sound, emotion, connection, and the endless possibilities music opens. And I know I’m only at the beginning of the road.
