More: Every once in a while an artist comes through that does something so different from the status quo that everyone sits up and takes notice. Merka’s debut album ‘Berserka’ is one such event. His own eclectic take on Breakbeat has gained interest from across the board, ensuring the cream of UK Dance press are hot on his heels & radio’s Anne Mac, Zane Lowe, Annie Nightingale & Eddie-Temple Morris all showing their suppport. With the album set to hit the shelves on 12th March, Merka has been hard at work concocting a very special performance for the event, with rumours of a live PA from guest vocalist – K-Star.

Joining him will be two more of Breaks’ young pretenders Tom Real vs The Rogue Element. Well-known for their collaborations on Exeter’s Functional label and remixes for the likes of Noisia, the two form one of the most respected production outfits around. Their set at Glade festival was broadcast on Annie Nightingale’s show and voted in her top 5 guest mixes of 2006. Rogue is a regular at Chew The Fat, but Tom Real will be making his debut so expect fireworks when these two take to the decks!

Also in attendance will be Andy D, Chew The Fat’s resident radio host on Ministry Radio. Fresh from his production antics with Porno Breaks, Andy is fully-prepared to straddle the genre divide, so expect a potent mix of stomping Techno, Tech House & Breakbeat!

In the lounge Fly Society, best known for their monthly shindings at Ruby Lo and Ruby Lounge, bring their good times blend of hip hop, soul, funk and 80s groove to the show, with guests Olly Teeba of Herbaliser fame and Finger Lickin’s A Skillz joining the Fly Society residents. Another quality night’s entertainment from Chew The Fat!
