Modern Amazons @ Glastonbury 2005
The fantastic Modern Amazons Breast Cancer Charity exhibition is going to Glastonbury for a second year.
What is Modern Amazons ?
www.modernamazons.org.uk
Modern Amazons is a stunning exhibition of photographs of young women whom have been affected by breast cancer; they have been taken by high profile photographers such as Bryan Adams, Nadav Kander, Steve Pyke, Eammon McCabe and Jake Walters. Everyone involved in this project has very generously donated their time and services.
Modern Amazons’ founder is Annie Middleton, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2000 at just 30 years old, and a single mother to two children. Determined to gain something positive she created Modern Amazons to raise breast awareness in younger women, and ultimately to change the public’s perception of younger women with breast cancer from ’victim’, to ‘Victor’.
To date Modern Amazons has had a hugely successful tour of the exhibition, starting at the Hempel Hotel in London and on the 52 Plasma screens in-store at Selfridges during March 2004, at Glastonbury Festival 2004, at the Royal Society of Medicine in August 2004 and at the Battersea Arts Centre in November 2004-January 2005.
Alongside this fantastic exhibition will be djs playing uplifting and funky music all weekend long.
Many top artists are donating their time to help support this great cause.
Please take some time over the weekend to come and help support this great cause.
