Pulp is 10 years old! Well, not exactly, but it is our 10th party approaching and so as a special treat, we’ve decided to revive the original five. After 9 impressive events where we’ve played host to some of the undergrounds coolest, we thought we’d return to original values by featuring special sets from all the DJs who helped Pulp get off the ground.
While focusing tightly on an underground music policy, where previous guests DJs have included Clint Lee (Papadiso), Sophie Oliver (Retox), The Cheshire Catz (Fakt Recordings), Lee Jarvis, Spencer Parker (CR2 Records) and JNR J, Pulp remains at the forefront of cool, underground electronic music; from jacking electro, tech-house and minimal, to squelchy acid, techno and ubertron (I made that last one up). And, as an extra special treat, one half of Pulps’ promotion team, Kerry Wallace, will be playing an extended 3 hour set.
Kerry Wallace began DJing and promoting events back on his native soil in Sydney, Australia where he promoted at Suzie Q’s to great acclaim. Upon reaching the UK, Kerry quickly found his place – regular DJ sets at Traffik, JAM, The Soho & The Chapel Bar allowed him to win over the debaucherous London followers of underground electronic house. With a love for deep, dark minimal techno and Germenesque tech house, Kerry keeps the bodies moving and minds warping. As a special 3 hour set awaits our beloved comrade, he ensures that non a moment is to be missed. Expect it, phat, techy and pumping.
With the current 4am license and recently sound proofed, renovated and redesigned 220 capacity ground floor, The Chapel Bar is an ideal location for an event of this caliber. Pulp succeeds where other parties of this size fail because those booking the DJs, drawing the crowds and marketing the night are out in the scene, using their contacts and keeping abreast of current trends. Adding this to the recently boosted 4500W Turbosound PA system means that The Chapel Bar is more than your average DJ bar.
