The end of the month is nigh but fear not as we provide another Friday night session of Gallery goodness at the Ministry of Sound in London for your nocturnal pleasure. And a rather splendid affair it is too, with a spread of world-class talent and big name jocks lining up on Friday 26th September for your audio delectation. First up is our resident and headliner Hernan Cattaneo who since making his UK debut at The Gallery, has gone onto become one of the world’s biggest and most respected DJs. Now a regular fixture in DJ Mag’s Top 10 chart thingy, Hernan continues to support new talent with his critically acclaimed Renaissance series and regular appearances at the world’s leading festivals. His recent Renaissance - Sequential Vol. 2 mix compilation further proved his worth whilst he continues to divide his time between the northern and southern hemisphere for half of the year respectively we are delighted that for the last six months he has called us home in the UK.
Guy Gerber is a name we are very excited about welcoming to The Gallery here at Ministry. The ex footballer from Tel Aviv is seriously in the ascendancy to the stratosphere. Shooting to mass attention in 2004 with his production ‘Stoppage Time’, a peak-time dancefloor destroyer which Gerber put together in three hours supposedly!! It was picked up by DJs as varied as John Digweed and Sven Vath. In fact, Vath loved it so much he signed Gerber to Cocoon for whom he has produced three 12”s, including RA fave ‘Sea of Sand’ with Shlomi Aber, and now a debut LP ‘Late Bloomers’, released this month. Taking off in 2007, Guy Gerber's label Supplement Facts from Tel Aviv, has seen releases from Gerber himself, Chaim, David K, REshuffle, Catwash (Chris Carrier & DJ Wild) and Varoslav, as well as remixes from Johnny D and Reboot - all releases becoming essential players in any DJ's set. Gerber has also toured the label around the world, hitting Sonar, Berlin and various dates in Japan, Italy, France, Amsterdam, Belgium and more and remains a seriously in demand DJ heading out from Tel Aviv each weekend to play clubs around Europe, North America and Asia. Gerber weaves together house and techno with a fine ear for melody and is going to be a sure fire winner for the Box at this week’s Gallery. After helping launch her amazing new DJ compilation and catching up with her (and the latest gossip about the new Faithless album) Sister Bliss did what she does best and fucking blew the place away in August.. so it’s a return for her good self in September and another chance to witness firsthand the reasons we wax lyrical about her and are dead chuffed to have her as part of the Gallery. The rising stars and 2008 winners of The Gallery DJ competition Uniondjs provide the early doors warm up. With a huge London following and an infectious energy both on and off the decks these two lovable chaps are going to set the tone perfectly for the occasion.
Hosted by Berwick Street Sessions, the Bar is given the Timo Garcia treatment once more as he is joined by international stars not to be missed - Ricky Stone and Eric Kupper, plus local boy done good Rhyd B gets it all going early doors. This celebration of the passing of August is completed by the Baby Box welcoming Lose Control and their disc jockeys Future Freakz, Dave Winney, Joelle Atkins, SimonHills & Digital Dog, Stuart Donaghy & Major DJ and This Is Stereo. Over the Lounge Licked welcome Jason Chance, Rob Loco, Lewi Five-O, Rob & D.A.V.E Marchant and James Wilkinson. You would be mad to miss it. We won’t be!
