Larger than life: interview with Clare Large, 21st Jun

HarderFaster DJs >> Clare Large
Music Style:All kinds of house, techno and broken beats. I appreciate all kinds of
music, as long as it's GOOD!

lots of time touring the US and Canada for the past 4 years. Moving to
Montreal mid May 06.
Date of birth:June 16th

Bar.

Bookings Contact:tom@tekdjs.wanadoo.co.uk, bianka@globalsound.ca
No. of records:Well I just bought sooooo many more in Tokyo...its insane and wonderful
here...I'd guess about 3000.
Started playing:98
All time top 3 tunes:I couldn't possibly choose just 3. Anything Detroit based, genre bending,
forward thinking and that inspires.
Website:http://intelligentaudio.net
http://clarelarge.com
Signed to:Neuromorphic Records, California.
Sample set:http://intelligentaudio.net/clarelarge/music.php
Worst DJing moment:After only DJing about 3 months, had twisted my ankle and hobbled
onstage for a gig in bedford. Rested one hand on this ledge thing on
the wall, the other on the turntable table...which was basically a sheet
of wood resting on two tables with fabric all over it so it looked sturdy.
The whole table tipped up and the decks fell off while the previous DJ
was still playing. Luckily we saved the decks, was just crap, haha!!
Would most like to play:Tribal Gathering/Bugged Out
Most enjoyable set you've played:Divalicious, Seattle 2003
When you're not DJing you're:Writing music, in the gym, at a free party, doing yoga, writing more
music, talking about music, listening to new music, planning mad
travelling trips (normally involving DJing!)
Favourite DJ:Jim Masters
Favourite Venue:The Warehouse, Plymouth...sadly now closed
Favourite Promotion:Any who move things forward and take chances
Favourite Producer:Si Begg
Favourite Label:Svek
Biggest Influence:The energy I feel from music
Drink:sometimes, normally water
Non-music pastime:yoga
Words of wisdom:Believe in yourself and anything can happen
Other Comments:Music is my life and I love it so much Big grin
